Are children NPCs? Do they wander about and have their own lives, or do they sit locked in a secure vault somewhere waiting for me to die?
Will people know who your children are?
Can I kill a man's children, then him, and then his spirit has no place to go?
Are your children the only things that a spirit can inhabit, or can you inhabit say, an orphan?

This one has me stumped, too. I don't know how it's supposed to work if there are no NPCs. Are they like livestock?
And to quote Kotaku (again), "Of course, the FAQ doesn't explain whether or not I can impregnate my own offspring."

Hmm, if there are no NPC's then would other starting players start as your childern? I know it sounds crazy but it might just work.

but then how can you sprit jump into your children if someone is playing as them.... would it just kick them off and say "Your Father died, now he wants your body, he gets it... so... go get yourself another one..."
which brings up the inconsistancy in the FAQ where he said that one story element might be your father getting murdered and you have to avenge his death...
nm its not an inconsistancy... cause when you get killed and you jump into your child then your first ambition would probably be to avenge your father (i.e. yourself)
which brings up another point... if you only have 1 kid and the father dies.... and goes into the son, then what happens to the mother if she dies... does she just start over?
one Idea might be like a blank body area... where your spirit carries 50% of your traits into this blank body from the "body store?"
cause if your spirit doesn't have a child to go into what happens... I really want to help make this permadeath thing work but if you don't have a child your spirit needs somewhere else to go... any ideas?

Maybe if you don't have a child then you lose everything. So its kind of like you better have a back-up plan cause if something does go wrong you can fall back on a child. If you don't have a child its your fault and you must start over.

Here's a question that's occurred to me and for which I don't have an easy answer, either:
Will some players need to play female characters in order to reproduce and have children? And in that case, which parent's player gets to play the kid(s)?
I can see it now:
[Orgrimmar - General]: WTS my body 50gp per kid pst

I don't think we will see a problem with Men finding it hard to get a female to reproduce. The female must reproduce also so they can "respawn" once they die into their childeren.

Yeah, now that I think about it, for all the Night Elf females dancing on mailboxes in World of Warcraft... I doubt there will be a shortage of females, too.

Thats one thing I give WoW a hand for. they got the females back into MMORPG's Well, yes, that's true; there are quite a number of female players in WoW. But the % of female characters that are played by actual females is still fairly low. Chances are very high that the flirtatious, busty NE in the skimpy leather armor that's been hitting on the warrior for the past hour and a half is actually a dude.

Hey, even if it is a man as long as I get my child I'll be fine with it lol.

Well ok guys. You're thinking about this in the 21st century. Most people back then had like, 10 kids. What for, labor. Alllll riiiiight. Which also brings me to another point. Who says you only get to control one character? As a father won't you also be able to boss your children around? I would LOVE *hint hint* a little rts element to this. You will be able to control your main guy, but also be able to control your children. Maybe not all the way mind you (children are rebelious) but that would be way cool.

Hehe. Unfortunately for Children of the Corn spinoffs, humanoids can only have one child. Beasts can have several, though, which I talked about in the creatures forum.
